ABOUT US
“When it
rains, most birds head for shelter; the
eagle is the only bird that, in order to
avoid the rain, soars above the rain
clouds." ...That means that an eagle
flying at an altitude of 1,000 feet over
open country could spot prey over an area
of almost 3 square miles from a fixed
position.
Isn't
the above pretty much the way we,
(parents, friends or family members) of a
loved one with disabilities are? I mean, this
is WHO WE ARE!
Sitting down during the storm isn't EVEN
an option for us. Ever. We have to keep
looking for resources so the loved ones
in our nest will be able to soar too. No
matter how high we have to fly and no
matter how many storms we have to endure,
we have to find those resources that will
help.
As of
today, Montgomery County, OH has the
largest division of athletes in the State
of Ohio. In
speaking
with parents and sharing information
about events and activities, we started
tapping into those resources. And ...the
list started growing and growing ...and
growing. Our Brave Kids Website is how we
decided to post and share the information
we obtained. It is our Team Website! We
wanted one place that people could go and
see the list of activities,
events, functions and programs
as well as educational
material
that are available.
We
are NOT a business

do NOT operate out of a
building

are NOT a 501(c)(3)
We
do NOT ask for donations for
Our Brave Kids
We
do NOT operate all the
activities and events that
are posted
We
are NOT affilitated with
Special Olympics or any other
organization (although we do
participate in those events)
WE
ARE SIMPLY parents that want
to make all resources known
for individuals with
disabilities ...and to let
you know that you are NOT
alone in your journey.
We invite
you to view our "Community
Resources Page."
Activities are available at a local and
federal level that you may be able to
participate in. Not all require MRDD
waivers etc. Some activities, you
just go!
