In
July of 2010 Michael Huff was chosen by
the Ohio Special Olympics to compete on a
National
level in the event that will be held in
Lincoln, Nebraska July 18-23,2010.
It is a great honor for Michael to be
chosen to represent our home team, Huber
Heights and also Team Ohio.
Michael will be participating in the
Bocce Ball competition. Michael and Tyler
Bacca-Styles placed first in Bocce during
the State competition in 2009. |
Michael has
had the pleasure of meeting with his
team members and coaches this past
November and is looking forward to
meeting with them again for the
weekend training camp that will be
held in mid April. Michael will
be a part of Team Ohio and is only
one of the 65 athletes and 25 coaches
that will be representing Team Ohio.
It take hundreds of individuals and
volunteers to organize and to ensure
that an event of this magnitude
operates successfully.
Michael will arrive in Nebraska on
July 18th via Cessna
Airlift. With much
gratitude, due to the
generosity of hundreds of Cessna
Citation owners, 3000 Special
Olympics Athletes and Coaches will
arrive at Duncan Aviation, Lincoln,
Nebraska. A Special
Olympics Citation will land or
take off every 60-90 seconds during a
12 hour period on July 17th.
After the games have concluded on
July 23rd, the Special
Olympics Citation fleet will return
to Lincoln, Nebraska to pick up the
athletes and return them safely
home.
